Schedule Optimization Software in Construction Project Management

By default, ALICE optimizes the construction schedules it generates for duration, then optimizes for crew/equipment numbers. However, you can change the optimization engine’s prioritization by:

• Duration: Search for solutions with the shortest duration (compress end) for the project

• Optimize for Crew/Equipment Numbers (Resource Usage): Search for solutions with the lowest peak resource requirement for all or specific crews/equipment

• Optimize for Specific Crew/Equipment

• Idle Time/Cost (Resource Allocation): Search for solutions with the least down time for all or specific crews/equipment

• Milestone Ends: Search for solutions with the shortest duration (compress end) for all or specific end milestones (ex. Search for solutions to set a Equipment X as soon as possible)

• Scope: Search for solutions that compress the overall duration (push start and/or compress end) based on element property tags (ex. Reduce duration for elements tagged “Area 3”)

• Precedence: Search for solutions that prioritize precedence logic over resource logic (ALICE generated logic) to help control the flow of resources
