We’re building the AI-powered future of construction planning
At ALICE Technologies, we’re reimagining how the world’s most complex projects get planned and built. Our AI construction simulation and optimization platform transforms how contractors and owners bid, plan, and execute projects—from bridges and tunnels to data centers and solar farms.
Why join us
- Pioneer AI in construction tech – Embed AI into real workflows that impact billion-dollar projects.
- Tackle real-world complexity – Turn messy, high-stakes problems into elegant, scalable solutions.
- High impact, high ownership – Partner closely with Product, Design, and Leadership to shape what we build and how we build it.
- A growth-stage rocket ship – Small team, big ambition, real traction.
The Role
As an Engineering Team Lead at ALICE, you are responsible for delivering product value through a high-performing, autonomous team. You sit at the intersection of engineering execution, product thinking, and people leadership.
You and your Product Manager form a tight leadership duo, owning a roadmap and driving it from idea to production. Your mission is simple but demanding:
Remove everything that prevents your team from delivering the right thing, at full speed.
Core Responsibilities
Delivery Ownership
You are fully accountable for continuous, predictable delivery of product value.
- Own execution of your team’s roadmap together with your Product Manager
- Ensure the team understands the “why” behind everything they build
- Maintain constant visibility into progress, risks, and trade-offs
- Proactively address delays—solve with your PM or escalate early
- Break down large initiatives into clear, testable milestones
- Drive iterative delivery with continuous validation and feedback
- Actively engage in sprint planning—challenge, refine, and align work with customer value
You don’t passively follow plans—you shape them.
In critical moments, especially for key customers, you lead from the front—whether that means creative problem-solving or going the extra mile to ensure delivery.
People Management & Team Performance
You are responsible for building and growing a high-performing engineering team.
- Own performance and career development of your team members
- Provide frequent, direct, and actionable feedback
- Run effective 1:1s and create a culture of open feedback (both ways)
- Ensure every team member understands their growth path and expectations
- Act quickly on performance issues—address, support improvement, and make tough decisions when needed
You are also a strong hiring manager:
- Drive end-to-end hiring (sourcing, interviews, evaluation, decision-making)
- Maintain a high bar for talent—we hire selectively
- Ensure smooth onboarding so new hires become productive quickly
Operations & Engineering Excellence
You ensure your team operates effectively, efficiently, and sustainably.
- Apply Agile principles pragmatically—focus on iteration, feedback, and outcomes, not rituals
- Continuously improve team processes through retrospectives and feedback loops
- Strengthen collaboration across Engineering, Product, and Customer Success
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and unnecessary processes
- Maintain high standards for code quality, system reliability, and scalability
You’re also ready to handle real-world complexity:
- Respond to production issues and customer escalations
- Adapt quickly to unexpected challenges or opportunities
- Ensure your team can operate effectively under pressure
What Good Looks Like
- Your team delivers consistently, predictably, and with high quality
- Engineers are engaged, growing, and clear on expectations

- Problems are surfaced early and solved proactively
- Processes are lean, purposeful, and continuously improving
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading engineering teams (ideally in a product company)
- Strong technical background with the ability to guide architecture and execution decisions
- Track record of delivering complex software in iterative environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to balance speed, quality, and long-term scalability
- High ownership mindset—you take responsibility, not just tasks
The package
- Competitive salary
- Meaningful equity—share in the upside you help create
- Comprehensive benefits that support your health, focus, and growth
- A culture that rewards bold thinking, rapid iteration, and a relentless focus on user outcomes
